COVID-19’s new FLiRT variants are on the rise in California and in Los Angeles County, coronavirus levels in wastewater have jumped significantly. Additionally, the number of ER visits and hospitalizations have increased. Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe by taking simple precautions like staying home when sick and testing for COVID-19. Frequent handwashing, masking when in crowded spaces, and getting vaccinated can all help to slow the spread. For faculty and staff, it is required that you report positive COVID-19 tests to COVID19HR@smc.edu. Students can report positive tests to Healthcenter@smc.edu and should also be encouraged to stay home when they experience symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
